Remote tech help

from$40

Defined remote support tasks are quoted from $40 after I review whether remote help is suitable.

A written quote sets the scope, price and expected duration. New work needs your approval.

Website design & support

Quoted individually

Quote, payment stages agreed before work
New computer setupfrom $85
New computer + file transferfrom $110

Setup and transfer packages start at the prices above and are quoted for the agreed task. A defined task keeps its quoted price if it finishes early; an estimate does not automatically increase if troubleshooting takes longer. Uncertain troubleshooting is scoped and priced as a diagnostic appointment, with any new work quoted separately. Tech-support deposits and payment instructions are provided with the written quote. Website payment stages, taxes and third-party costs are confirmed in the quote.

04 / REMOTE SUPPORT, STEP BY STEP

From “why won’t it work?”
to a clear next step.

Let’s start with your issue

Describe the issue and the device you’re using. A few sentences are enough.

  2. 02

Find the right kind of help.

I’ll assess whether remote help is suitable. If I’m available, I’ll send the proposed scope, price and time. Physical or on-site problems should go to an appropriate provider.

  3. 03

    Approve, deposit and meet.

Once you approve the quote and pay the agreed 50% deposit, I’ll confirm the appointment in writing with joining instructions. We’ll work through the agreed scope together.

REMOTE HELP, WITH YOU IN CONTROL

At your computer.
On your terms.

Many everyday Windows and Apple software issues can be handled through a temporary remote support session. You approve the connection, watch what’s happening, and can end it at any time.

  • No permanent, unattended access kept by default.
  • You enter your own passwords whenever possible.
  • Never send passwords by email, text or this website.
Ask if remote help is right for you

05 / NO NEED TO COMMIT YET

Not sure
what you need?

Tell me what’s happening first so I can assess whether remote help is suitable. Appointments depend on my availability. Messages aren’t monitored continuously; there is no emergency or 24/7 support.

A real person.
A little patience.
A simpler way forward.

Prefer to choose a day?

Don’t send passwords, banking details or other sensitive login information.

I’ll use these details to respond to your question.

06 / GOOD QUESTIONS

A few things
you might wonder.

Can you fix my computer remotely?

Many Windows, Apple, email and software issues can be investigated remotely if your computer turns on and has a working internet connection. Tell me what’s happening first so I can check whether remote help is suitable.

What happens during remote support?

After we agree on an appointment, I’ll guide you through starting a temporary support session. You approve access, can watch the screen and can end the connection. No unattended access or recording by default.

Do I need to give you my password?

Please don’t send passwords through this website or by message. You should enter your own passwords whenever possible. If a sign-in is needed, we’ll discuss it during the appointment.

What if you can’t fix the problem?

Not every issue can be fixed in a session. I’ll explain what I’ve found and any options for a next step. We’ll agree on the charges before starting; time spent investigating may still be billable. There’s no automatic “no fix, no fee” promise.

What kinds of devices do you support?

The focus is Windows laptops and desktops, Apple computers and everyday Apple-device questions, printers and scanners, plus basic home Wi-Fi troubleshooting. If you have a different device, ask first. I don’t repair physical hardware or open devices. Advanced account or device recovery may need a specialist.

Do you repair broken screens or hardware?

No. I offer remote software, setup and connection help only. I don’t replace screens, repair broken or damaged parts, or open phones, tablets, laptops or desktops. Internal hardware repairs, battery replacements and liquid damage need a qualified hardware repair provider. Advanced security incidents also need specialist help.

Can you recover deleted files?

I can help check ordinary places such as the Recycle Bin or an existing backup where appropriate. I don’t offer advanced data recovery. If important files are missing or a drive may be failing, stop using it and contact a data-recovery specialist.

Do you support company-owned computers?

This service is for personal and home technology. For a company-managed device, contact your employer’s IT team. I won’t bypass their access rules, security settings or account restrictions.

Do you offer visits or a repair shop?

No. I’m based in Hamilton, Ontario and work remotely only. Physical repairs or problems requiring an on-site visit need an appropriate local provider.

How and when do I pay?

Tech support is quoted from $40 for an agreed task or diagnostic scope. A 50% deposit is requested after approval, with the balance due under the written quote. Website work uses written milestones, commonly 30% to start, 40% at the agreed review milestone and 30% before handover. Online payment collection is not connected on this preview.

Can I ask about my problem before booking?

Yes. Use the quick inquiry form above to describe the problem. Sending an inquiry doesn’t book an appointment or commit you to paid work.

When are you available?

Support is by appointment and subject to my availability. Share your preferred date and times; they do not reserve a slot. Messages aren’t monitored continuously, and I don’t offer emergency or 24/7 support. Website timelines are agreed after reviewing the project.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

Please give at least 24 hours’ notice to receive a deposit refund or transfer. A late cancellation or no-show may incur a disclosed fee capped at the deposit; connection problems are assessed fairly. I’ll provide the full policy before payment.

What is included in a website project?

Business sites, redesigns, landing pages, content updates, mobile layout fixes, setup help and selected integrations subject to review. Each written quote sets the scope, page count, revision allowance, timeline, price, payment stages and handover. Hosting, domains, paid tools and ongoing maintenance are accounted for separately. Extra requests need a new agreement.

Can you guarantee Google rankings or ongoing support?

No. Basic search setup helps search engines understand a site but does not guarantee indexing or rankings. A website project does not include unlimited revisions, continuous monitoring or ongoing maintenance unless separately agreed. Complex online stores, custom applications and urgent maintenance are outside the initial offer.

LESS TIME TROUBLESHOOTING. MORE TIME FOR YOU.

Let’s get your tech sorted.

Start with an appointment request. We’ll confirm the details together.

Ask a question

LET’S FIND A TIME

Request an appointment.

Remote tech support only: describe the issue first. I’ll assess suitability and confirm availability, time and price before anything is booked. Messages aren’t monitored continuously; no emergency or 24/7 support.

All times are Hamilton time (Eastern). These are preferences, not available slots.

Don’t send passwords or other sensitive login information.

Your details are used to respond and arrange support. Read the and .

LET’S LOOK AT YOUR IDEA

Discuss a website project.

New site or a small fix? Share a brief first. This is an inquiry, not a booked tech-support session or an accepted quote. I’ll review the scope and my availability before proposing next steps. Messages aren’t monitored continuously.

Public links only. Don’t include private preview tokens or login links.

Don’t send passwords, credentials, customer records or other sensitive information.

Your details are used to review and respond to this project inquiry. Read the and .

Your information.

Names, email addresses, optional phone numbers, device details, appointment preferences and website project briefs or URLs you submit are used to respond, assess suitability, prepare quotes, arrange work and maintain basic service or payment records where needed. An inquiry does not subscribe you to marketing messages.

Share only what’s needed

Don’t send passwords, banking credentials, credit card information, your SIN, government-login details or other sensitive credentials. There are no file uploads or payment-card fields on this site. If Stripe invoicing is connected later, billing details and payment status will be handled through Stripe’s hosted tools; this site will not store card numbers.

Handling your details

Your information isn’t sold. It is kept only as long as reasonably needed for the service, follow-up and required records. You can ask about access, corrections or deletion by contacting techspecialistsupport@gmail.com; some records may need to be retained.

When enabled, forms are processed by Formspree and delivered to the support inbox. Stripe invoicing, if enabled later, will be a separate provider for approved deposits and balances. The form provider and email provider may process information outside Canada. The website doesn’t keep a separate customer database or log form contents.

A quieter website

No advertising trackers or analytics are installed. Fonts are served from this website. Temporary technical information is used to reduce repeated spam requests.

Terms for tech help and websites.

These plain-language terms explain how remote tech help and website projects work. They apply after we agree in writing on scope, price and the next step. An inquiry is not a confirmed booking, and not every problem can be fixed.

Scope, estimates and payment

I’ll describe the proposed work and price before starting. Prices are in CAD; applicable taxes, third-party charges and payment timing will be identified before they are added. A defined task keeps its quoted price if it finishes early. New work or a material scope change needs your approval.

Remote sessions and availability

Tech support is quoted from $40 for an agreed task or diagnostic appointment. The written quote states the scope, expected duration and price. A diagnostic appointment is an assessment and does not guarantee a repair. I work remotely only, by appointment and subject to availability. Messages aren’t monitored continuously; emergency or 24/7 support is not provided.

Website projects

Website work is quoted individually after reviewing requirements. Before work starts, we agree in writing on scope, page count, revision allowance, timeline, price, payment stages and handover, including files, account ownership and access. Hosting, domain registrations, paid tools and any ongoing maintenance are clearly accounted for in the quote. They are not included by default. Scope changes require agreement on any added cost and time.

You must have permission to use supplied text, images and other materials. We agree on a backup and approval process before changes to an existing site. Larger stores, custom applications, advanced integrations and urgent ongoing maintenance are reviewed individually. There is no promise of flawless results, guaranteed search rankings, unlimited revisions or continuous support. Any maintenance must be separately agreed.

Your responsibilities

You confirm that you own or are authorized to access the device and accounts involved. Back up important files before a session and tell me which files matter. Do not send passwords, banking details or other sensitive credentials through this website.

Remote support and changes

Remote sessions are temporary and customer-controlled. You approve the connection, can watch what happens and can end it. I won’t bypass passwords, account-ownership checks or company security controls. Proposed updates, installations and settings changes will be explained before significant work.

Limits and specialist referrals

Physical device repairs are not offered. I don’t open phones, tablets, laptops or desktops, replace screens or batteries, or repair internal components or liquid damage. Those jobs need a qualified hardware repair provider. Advanced data recovery, serious security incidents and company-managed devices may also need a specialist. I do not promise a particular outcome or guarantee that a problem will be fixed. If a drive may be failing, stop using it and seek specialist advice.

Deposits, cancellations and rescheduling

After you approve a tech-help quote, a 50% deposit is requested before I reserve the appointment. Give at least 24 hours’ notice to receive a deposit refund or transfer. A late cancellation or no-show may incur a disclosed fee capped at the deposit; it is not charged automatically without the agreed policy. You have a 10-minute grace period for connection delays. If I cancel or cannot provide the agreed service, I will reschedule or refund the deposit. Website project cancellations are handled in the written quote based on completed work and committed costs. These policies remain subject to rights and exceptions that cannot legally be excluded.

Fair limits

To the extent permitted by law, responsibility is limited to the agreed service and fees paid for that service. Nothing here removes consumer rights or other protections that cannot legally be excluded. If an important issue is unclear, ask before work begins.

Payment setup and accessibility

Stripe invoicing is planned for deposits and balances but is not connected on this preview. The request forms do not take payment or automatically confirm an appointment. If an invoice is used, it will state the amount, due date and service scope.

Accessibility and questions

If you need an accessible way to review these terms or use the site, contact techspecialistsupport@gmail.com. Questions about a service or these terms can be sent there before requesting work.
